Maine Master License
License #MEL-12345, in good standing with the Maine Electricians Examining Board.
Twenty-two years, four trucks, the same family running the shop, the same belief that an electrician should be the easy phone call.
PORTLAND, MAINE · EST. 2004 · LIC. MEL-12345
Mark "Sparky" Donovan pulled his first permit in 1998 working under a master in South Portland. By 2004 he had his own master's license and a single Ford E-150 with the company name lettered by hand. Today the shop runs out of the same garage on Munjoy Hill — just with four trucks instead of one, and Mark's son Ben working alongside him.
The principle hasn't changed since day one. Every job gets a real master on site, not a helper running unsupervised. Every quote is honest. Every panel gets every breaker labeled. We answer the phone at 2 AM when somebody's basement is dark and they have a baby upstairs. We sweep up. We say what we'll do, then we do it.
The reason we stay small — four trucks, eight people, one shop — is that small is what makes the rest work. The same person who quotes your job is the person doing your job. When you call back, you talk to someone who remembers you. When something goes wrong six months later (it almost never does), it's still the same shop that did the work.
You call, we answer. Mark or Ben picks up during business hours. After-hours, the same number rings the on-call electrician — no answering service, no offshore call center routing you somewhere you didn't expect.
Estimates are estimates, not opening bids. When we quote a price, that's the price. If we hit something genuinely unexpected during the job (old houses do that), we stop and call you before we spend your money.
Code-correct, every job. Inspections sign off the first time because the work was done right the first time. We don't cut corners we'd be ashamed of if our own inspector showed up unannounced.
Clean job site, every time. We bring drop cloths. We wear booties in the finished spaces. We sweep up. We label every breaker so the next person — whether it's us, you, or whoever owns the house in 20 years — knows exactly what's what.
Two-year workmanship warranty. Everything we install. If something we did isn't right, we come back and make it right. That's the deal.
